New Who Review for Satan's Pit

Second part of the story with lots of interesting stuff about belief, religion, and the beginning of the world. What you believe and who you believe and believe in is very much a part of this episode. It did go off in some strange directions and there was what I call a Deus Ex TARDIS sort of thing at the end of the day but not a bad episode over all. Yeah I got the Torchwood reference this time around. (On another note WOW! What a series! I am becoming quite enamored of Torchwood and really hope that it does get picked up for another season.) Some interesting Rose/Doctor dynamics even though they were parted from each other this episode. Liked what the writers did with the Ood (and hope it is not the last time we have seen them).

I liked the Doctor pointing out that evil has many names and faces and that religions all over the universe have names for them. His confrontation with the beast was really well played by Mr. Tennant. I loved watching his face as he worked out what happened, how screwed they were, and the only solution possible which might cost him Rose. Then consider that he played that entire thing only being given a POV spot to look at where the beast was going to be and it raised his acting to a whole other level.

Billy Piper did fine as Rose. No petulant child here. She took charge of the situation when needed. The character Rose does better when she doesn't have to share the Doctor with anyone else. This has been a constant in both the writing and the actress' performance which makes for some interesting dynamics later in the season.

Next week Love & Monsters an episode that most Doctor Who fans have a passionate opinion about. Personally I enjoyed the heck out of it but then I have been an ELO fan since I was a teenager.

Question for the group

Is anyone else have problems getting the live journal cuts to work?
