Got to give her credit for trying

Word count for today is done although I might be able to pull another couple 1000 words together to get a bit ahead. I haven't a clue if it is any good but at least I am writing something. Today was harder than yesterday which was harder than the day before which I feel is strange since I do know where the novel is going.

Caroline had some of her toys taken away for misbehaving after she had been informed of the consequences if she continued to do so. They have been put away and she knows how she can earn them back. That did not stop her from trying to get them back on her own. She first tried to circumvent the child proof door lock which she was unable to do. Then she went into her room and got a set of plastic keys that she has had since she was a baby and proceeded to try each key to "unlock" the door. Didn't work but we had to give her points for trying. This morning she tried to convince me to give the toys back to her and I informed her that she knew what she had to do to get them back. Which lead to a pout and Caroline telling me what she needed to do to get the toys back. She then went and played with her pandas in front of the door where her toys are. I'm hoping that she follows through so I can give the toys back to her. I was happy that the hysterics were at a minimum on her part. I give her credit for realizing that she lost the toys because she screwed up not because Mommy is a meanie. I am hoping that if she learns this now I'll have less trouble when she is a teen. I know I am probably dreaming but I can still hope.

Bowling went OK. My third game was the best of the three. The knee and the hip did hold up for me.

Not much else going on today. The kids are home from school because it is election day. I did vote. I take my right to vote very seriously and exercise it when I can.

I am grateful that I can vote.
