Did I miss a Memo?

OK it is August which, in my mind, means that I should be starting to see advertising for Back to School. (I know that some schools are already back in session and there are a couple of school districts that have done away with summer vacation for year round schools. However the majority still start in September.) In the fabric store I am not surprised to see the fall fabric since one needs time to make things before the season starts. However I don’t expect to see advertising for Halloween until at least after school has started. I blame the fact that Christmas now seems to show up around Halloween like a ghost of things to come. So Halloween is now pushed back in hopes that its existence will be recognized again. Poor Thanksgiving I think has just given up and become part of the Christmas season. May be I should start a petition to regulate when advertisers can use holidays to their advantage. No Christmas until AFTER Thanksgiving. No Halloween ads until the beginning of October. And November can be about Thanksgiving for a change. Wacky idea I know but I think it has some merit.

I have been keeping Caroline inside due to the heat. This morning it is not as bad so before it does so I am going to go out with her and play with her sidewalk chalk. She loves to draw on the sidewalk. I have a feeling I am going to be drawing a castle for her today.

Not as much done as I would like but I did get something done which is better than nothing. I think I am going to go back to my hour on one thing then an hour on another so I can get my projects done in a decent amount of time. Ariel has been real helpful in this quest. Caroline loves playing with her big sister.
