Que Sera, Sera

I didn’t get the job I had an interview for two weeks ago. At least they did me the kindness of actually calling me with the news rather than leaving me guessing. Onto the next message in a bottle.

This does give me the time to get cracking on a few other projects with a clear conscience that I can get them done. I also have to get a to-do list going because some convention stuff is falling through the cracks as I am trying to get more done. I use to find to-do lists one of the best ways to organize my mind. Less so lately and I don’t know why. I think since I had Caroline, my mind has restructured somehow. By gaining my Momdar (a mother’s radar) I may have lost a few other skills or I need to retrain my brain to think that way.

Muppet News! Disney is going to be releasing the complete first season of the Muppet Show on DVD in August. Wow, I am so happy. This is better than a show here or a show there from each of the seasons. Thanks Jeff for giving me the heads up on this. I guess if one does well then they will produce the rest. That is also the week they are releasing “Muppets’ Wizard of Oz.” I know there has been a lot of controversy about Disney and the Muppets but really they were no better off if not worse with the European holding company that owned them. Henson’s children had to buy them back before who knows owned them in the bankruptcy procedure. And Sesame Street characters are still owned by the Children’s Television Workshop so those were never on the table. I am going to take a wait and see attitude towards the whole thing.

Manamana is coming along nicely. I have learned a couple of things working on him and I think I will be learning a few more before he’s complete. I think that is going to be most of my day today along with Caroline. I want to get the “female” puppet done before class tomorrow too. She is mostly long so I think I can get both done today. Creative is good for my mind.

Caroline and I were playing on the computer together at the Noggin and Nick Jr. sites. She was giving me correct answers to questions and pointing out stuff in the hide and seek screens. It amazes me how much she understands. I can tell her the order of things like get into Pjs and you can watch Boo (Monsters Inc) a bit before bed. She will go to her changing table and pick out her Pjs for the evening. In the morning I can tell her what order we will be doing things in and she will do it. Peter thinks she is going to jump from one word to complete sentences with grammar. She already refers to herself as “I.” If she wants to go out I can tell her we need to change her clothes and put on her shoes. If her shoes are downstairs, she will pick them up and take them upstairs so they can be put on after she gets socks on.

I am grateful for fabric turners.
