Tis the Day O’ Travel

Caroline and I are heading home today. We had a very nice visit with my parents. She was getting to the point that she wasn’t listening to them either. We’ll be back for Christmas barring the unforeseen.

Traveling with a baby is always fun. For one thing your luggage seems to double with all the stuff you need for the munchkin. I will be very happy when she is eating what everyone else is eating and I do not have to buy special food for her. There is a bath mat we take so we can give her a bath in hotels. There are the bedtime stuffed toys that are in her crib every night and she expects them to be where ever she sleeps. Then there is pink blankie. This is the pink blanket she has slept under since she was born. If pink blankie is not in the crib there will be consequences. This is not a small blanket either so it does take up some space.

I have to try to pack what we brought plus a little. If it doesn’t all fit, I’ll have some books and stuff shipped up. This really can’t be done coming down to visit unless you ship what you need before you take your trip. Which we have done in the past.

Airports and toddlers are always fun. You have to take the baby out of the stroller and get the baby back into the stroller after passing through security. Then the baby doesn’t want to go back in because they were asleep until you woke them up to take them out of the stroller to get through security. SIGH Maybe I’ll luck out. Maybe pigs will fly.

I have my secret weapon ready to go if needed. Finding Nemo is ready to go in my Ibook. This gives me 90 minutes of delay time. I am hoping that we will be pretty much on time for flying but I am thinking about the airborne pigs again.

I am grateful for Pixar Studios.
