Party Down
Yesterday I took Caroline to a birthday party for Arren who turned two. Arren’s parents were very smart about the party. It was a few kids and the living room was baby proof for the kids. They played both together and next to each other for over 2 years. The adults got to watch the kids be cute and relax in adult company that understood when your kid had a little of a meltdown. There was cake which was very wonderful. Arren’s mom made it from scratch. Caroline slept on the way to and from the party. She had a lot fun. I think I am going to do the same thing for her party.
I took a quiz on the HGTV quiz on clutter and got Patty Packrat. I think that is fair. They have a whole section of their webpage on how to organize your house. There are times I think that it is hopeless and others that I can see light at the end of the tunnel which turns out to be a window I didn’t know existed. I have never been a neat person. My mother and I had great debates about the cleanliness of my room and bathroom when I lived a home. That and the gerbil cage or what ever rodent I owned at the time. Our problem is not dirt but clutter. The house is clean just has a lot of stuff in it. The exception to this is the kitchen. For various reasons including health, I keep the kitchen very clean.
I am grateful for my mother insisting that I learn at least the basics of cooking and had me prepare a meal for the family. I think my family is grateful too.
