Just Wondering

There are times that I wonder why I do this blog. I wonder if anyone is reading it and/or getting anything out of it. It takes time, thought and planning to write here. Then I will get an e-mail or someone will mention something that they read in my blog that touched them or caused them to think or they just enjoy reading and it makes it worth it to me.

I am hoping to get some time this weekend to reflect on the beginning of the year. We are 3 months about to be 4 months into 2005 and I don’t know where the time went. I feel some time pressure on some projects I want to do. Peter is very good about giving me some “me” time so I don’t feel too overwhelmed with everything. I try to do the same for him.

I do have the cloth for the clothing for the dolls I need to finish so I think they are next. I might slip a mask in there for variety. Then Scorpius the Muppet will be made in time for I-Con which is not that far away. After that my next creative project will be the Shoreleave costumes that I really need to sit down and do a break down of what we need for it. While that is happening, I want to complete more art for the art show at DragonCon and maybe Shoreleave. Motivation is a good thing if used correctly.

I am going to try to also get to organizing my life in storage. I have a lot of good books out there that I want to reread and Ariel would probably enjoy reading. I think I even have a couple of novels signed by this guy Peter David that I got autographed so long ago.

I am grateful for time to do what I want to do.

Just so you know

I enjoy reading your blog/lj. It's very well written and keeps me up to date on someone I've known for a long time. You do it well.

Huzzah.

I rarely comment but always read your posts. I like reading about your experiences as a mother and an artist. It is hard to make time to write, I don't have the internet at home so my only option for posting is at work and lots of time I'm, well, working.

I gotta agree with these others, I read your posts every time you put them up. Makes me think I know you, although I'm only seeing a small fraction of who you are.

Your posts do make me think about the things I take for granted. Like my daughter, sweet drinks, the ability to think and so on. Stuff that generally gets lost in the hustle of life. YOU remind me and others about them.

I always read your posts, even though I don't comment much (I don't even comment in my own LJ much!).

I read regularly, but I'm not always good about commenting. I shall strive to comment more often.

*hug* I read you. When I have the time to read my friendspage at all, mind! I read you. :)

I could be completely offbase about this, but I've noticed that LJ is a very "swift" medium -- things flicker onto peoples friendslists, and then fall off as they're replaced. Quick and easy to read; quick to comment on things that don't require a lot of thought, but longer, thought-provoking essays like the sort of thing you post tend to get pushed aside by newer stuff and fall off the screen before people can come up with a thoughtful reply.

The things that I've seen get the most replies are simple calls for emotion: Yay, something good happened to me! Woe, something terrible happened -- sympathy please? Isn't this funny or cute? Replies that require thought tend to be fewer and further between.

Look Forward to it Daily!!

I don't comment often, but I do enjoy reading your LJ everyday...I acutally look forward to it, it's interesting and often talks about things I'd not come into contact with otherwise.
