The Last Monday in November 2011

Well scratch one idea that I had written up. I saw something that is basically the idea I had oh so many years ago and never got around to writing it up. Ah well. At least I have my Shakespeare project still. I think that is the one I am going back to. Either that or my monster one since Werewolves are going to be passé soon.

In one week my 8 year old becomes a 9 year old. Where did the year go? I am loving watching her grow up but it is going so fast to me. For her the next week will be a very long week but for me it is going to be very short.

So did you go see the Muppets? How did you like it? I am putting spoilers under a cut and allowing them in the comments including cameos.

Photobucket
This is a photo I took at the Ribbon cutting for the Center for Puppetry Arts on September 23, 1978 with my Kodak instamatic camera.
(For the VI: This is a grainy black and white photograph. In the upper right corner you can see Jane Henson standing next to Jim Henson. On the left side is Kermit the frog. Most of the photo is obscured by the shoulder of another person.)

I am grateful for things that I learn about my child

How many of you replied in your head? Be honest.

OK Best Muppet Cameo for the New Muppet Movie goes to Jim Parsons for “Am I a Man or am I a Muppet.” It was brilliant.

Runner-up Neil Patrick Harris

Did you know that Mickey Rooney’s son was the choreographer for all the dance numbers including the one Mikey Rooney was in?

Best Teaser/Parody trailer? Pig with the Frog Tattoo based on the surreal Girl with the Dragon Tattoo trailer.

Amy Adams can brighten anything. Did you know that they courted her to get her to do the role? They sent her a video explaining why she should do the Muppets.

I loved this film. Best film I have seen this year. It made me think that Disney might not screw this up for the Muppets.

Now if you haven’t seen it, I encourage you to see it this week. It is worth the price of admission.

[personal profile] mabfan and I saw it on Wednesday, and I loved it. I'm eager for the DVD, because I want to be able to slow down and rewind all sorts of scenes to see what I missed.

I loved Jim Parson's cameo.

I thought Jack Black did an awesome job as the reluctant host.
The chicken number was almost distracting. :( And I didn't really didn't get the barbershop song they were singing (I didn't recognize it). But that was about it.

Overall, I really loved the whole movie. I cried at the end. Part of me wishes they would do the tv show again.. even if it's 13 episodes a 'season' and put it on abc family.

I haven't seen it yet (want to, but movies are spensive...), but I've been dying to ask what you think about Frank Oz's rather negative comments.

Just got back and LOVED it. I didn't think the movie was good, but it was awesome. My favorite cameo was Feist because it was so unexpected. And who were the two missing Muppets at the start of the telethon show thing? Two of the slots were missing in the opening number towards the top.
