Be Prepared

That phrase uses to mean the Boy Scout Motto to me. Sean was a Boy Scout and did a lot of camping with his fellow scouts and friends. They loved finding ways of making the wilderness less wild. I think if he went now he would bring his own generator to make it even easier.

Now the first thing that pops into my head is Scar from the Lion King singing along with the Hyenas. The musical version not the film version.

We have another possible snowfall heading into the area tonight. It will probably be between 2 and 6 inches but I am betting less because we are prepared for it. We have all the materials needed to combat a storm and the after effects. The only problem is that this might put a spanner in our plans for the weekend so we are going to play that ancient game of wait and see.

I swear we are having more snow that usual this year. Peter pointed out that this goes in cycles and we were due for a snowy winter. I am hoping that this doesn’t affect our going to Farpoint. SnowCon was 9 years ago. Either way I am going to get ready for it.

I am grateful for being prepared before we knew we had to be prepared again.

Seattle is getting drowned this year: between swelling rivers and mudslides, it's really quite something to see. All this rain, and all the snow you're having, it supposedly a result of it being a La Nina year.

They are saying four to eight here. I'm hoping for another snow day.

I remember hearing something that we would probably being having a little more snow but this is getting absurd.

How is it in your area? I have been concerned about a number of my friends out there including a couple that live out in the hills.

Crosses finger for you.

I figure considering what we have had to deal with, school will be in session tomorrow as long as the roads aren't hazardous.

I'm also thinking we'll get a couple of inches, but not more. In any case, I'm guessing that school will be closed, and hoping I won't have to go to work. I need the moolah, but driving all over the place with all of the kids on sloshy roads is not my idea of a good time.

We in fact are getting more snow this year. Average is 29 inches, we've already had 32 inches, not counting ice.

I'm supposed to go to a workshop/meeting tomorrow morning, taking a work colleague who doesn't drive. I've already told her that we're not going if the roads are bad.

Where I am, it's not bad at all. The ground is a little soggy, but it's pretty urban here and drainage is good. Just north of Seattle and somewhere between Olympia and Portland OR there have been mudslides. I've heard about some flooding north of here, but beyond that, it's just a wetter but not hazy-crazy winter.

Now they are saying that the south shore is going to get some rain mixed in with the snow so who knows what we are going to get.

The weather report I just saw had upped the predicted totals for LB and environs to 3-5 inches (from 2-4, so it's not that big a change). We'll see.

Hey honey. Could you tell me if George Takai (sp is bad tonight) has a Twitter account? There's someone who says it is him, and I got a private message from him, and I'm a bit confused as to if it is him or not.

And yes, we did take a generator with us on a camping trip once.

I don't twitter but I'll ask Brad.

Also is the Girl Scout Motto! Sometimes we change it around and tell folks "Deraperpeb" instead. ;)
