Why I may not be at New York Comic Con This Year

Meet Figaro aka Fig. She is a domestic short hair cat I found up a tree in front of our property. She is about 6 weeks old so we can't leave her alone for the weekend like we can for the boys.

We are looking at boarding her but Caroline and I might just stay home with her since she is just getting use to us and we to her.

How did we end up with her? Balance in the Universe?

No, what happened is that when I was walking (running) Caroline to the bus stop, I heard a tiny mew. I checked the tree I thought it came out of and didn't hear it anymore. So I stocked it up to imagination. About 4 hours later, after one of those sideways rain storms we had yesterday, two ladies came to our door and said, "You have a kitten up your tree." We got a ladder and she met up half way so I had a very soaked little kitten huddled in my shirt for warmth.

I had Peter go get a cat carrier and we put her into it along with a towel and called the vet. We set up an appointment to have her seen (for some reason we kept called her a "her" even though we didn't know her gender). In the mean time we were given instruction to give her some wet food which she devoured quickly. She spent most of the rest of the afternoon hidden in the back of the carrier.

Caroline thinks we are the best parents ever for finding her a new kitten. She loves it a lot.

We had to get the fleas off her coat which took a bit but she seems flea free this morning. We are going to check her again this afternoon to make sure we got them all.

Figaro is adjusting to her new less wet life. This morning there were lots of purrs and pets and nuzzles.

So we are back up to being a 5 cat house which is as far as we will go in cat population.

I am grateful that we found her before last night's storms or this might be a much sadder entry.

Is her mama cat living nearby?
6 weeks is pretty tiny.

That's awfully young to be up in a tree but I'm glad whatever chased it picked your tree (even if it was just kitten curiosity). Lucky kid! And cute, too. :)

Awww, I wanted to say hi, but I'm glad it's for a good reason and Fig is adorable.

adorable cat... :)

our cat was a shelter kitty...not only you're providing a home to a cat...you're saving a life...

Aww - so adorable! I'm glad she found herself a warm, dry, and loving home!

Our cat population isn't allowed to be above 4, unless it is an emergency. Hubby (who is slightly allergic) doesn't want the pets to outnumber the humans, LOL.

What a cute face!!!!

I'm feeling wistful about not having a cat these days. I always have cat. But we have absolutely no place to put a litter box where the dogs can't snack on the leavings, so no cat for now.
