RTBTCKI (I'm doing Ok today edition)

Surgery went pretty well. My lip looks better than it did last time but the site itself is much more painful. Peter brought me back home and I slept off the rest of the drugs in my system. We spent a quiet family evening watching Middlemen, Dr. Who, Weeds, and Dairy of a Call Girl (well Peter and I were the only ones watching the last two). Today I rest and recuperate from yesterday.

I heard about Stan Winston. I am saddened but not surprised. I knew through friends about his cancer which he did fight the good fight on. I met him a couple of times over the years both in professional and convention settings. Nice guy. He even had me send him my resume to him a long time ago. I'm not concerned about his company. He, like Jim Henson, knew his weaknesses in business and hired people to strength those holes and listened to them. My sympathies to his family and friends.

Tigerheart is on sale now. Please buy it, read it and enjoy it. I think it is one of the best things Peter has ever written and it doesn't "sound" like Peter wrote it but he did. It deals with some pretty strong issues with gentle humor. I would highly recommend even if I wasn't married to the author.

I have said before that I thought Kung Fu Panda was a good film. There is one line that just keeps rolling through my head. It is when Oogway is talking to Po at the peach tree. Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That is why it is called the present. It is so true on so many levels. And it has given me a lot to think about considering what the year has thrown at me so far and at my friends.

I am grateful for today.

I'm glad the surgery went well! Heal up quickly!

I'll have to check out Tigerheart.

That is an excellent line, and an excellent philosophy. However, my favorite line is still: "There is no charge for awesomeness . . . or attractiveness."

:)

I'm glad you're doing better. And I loved that Oogway line in Kung Fu Panda.

Once I have a little extra, Tigerheart will be on my list of books to buy.

I'm glad that you are feeling better after the surgery. Take lots and lots of rest. *hugs*

My copy of Tigerheart just arrived at my desk. I think I might have to ditch the book I'm reading right now (it kind of sucks anyway) and start on this. I mean, technically I'm already a chapter in because I've heard Peter read it on more than one occasion. :)

I'm glad you're feeling better. Heal fast, and may this be the end of it.

I was planning on getting it this check. But that's out so is next. (thanks root canal!!!) But first check in July Tigerheart is mine! (I hate waiting that long since I'm usually a "grab it first week" kind of guy... but we do what we have to do.)
