I am always leery of any new drugs and such. I prefer to stick with the ol' standards that have been time-tested.
I think that it's up to the consumer to make intelligent choices instead of just responding to advertising. For example, Special K is currently implying that their cereal does all this great, healthy stuff for you, but upon inspection of the ingredients, you'll find that it has high fructose corn syrup which is one of the worst things that a person can eat regularly, yet almost EVERYthing has it.
People need to read labels and be generally wary of claims in advertising (speaking as a consumer AND someone in the advertising FIELD). I don't feel too sorry for people willingly who choose ignorance.
