WOW! I wasn't expecting that outcome.

Congratulations to both the New York Giants and the New England (why aren't they called the Boston) Patriots for making the GAME more interesting than the commercials! That has to be first time in a long time that had people on the edge of their seats down to the last minute of regulation play. Both teams fought hard but one had to win and it was the NY Giants who had a lot to prove this time around.

It must have been a happy day at the Manning house last night and I'm betting that Archie is proud of all his children. Eli finally grew into his big boy pants and fulfilled his potential that everyone has been talking about for the past couple of years. I'll admit when the interception happened I did say out loud "Oh no not again!" But he pulled it together with a masterful performance. I also felt slightly evil cheering every time the Giants got to Brady and smacked him around. He really wasn't smacked around enough this year.

We had a great time at our party. We had some of our neighbors over who have little to no interest in football but liked the commercials. By the end of the game, they were very interested in the game and how it was going to turn out. I swear you could hear a collective cheer from the block when the Giants went ahead. There was a screw up at one of the restaurants and we ended up with twice the size of our wing order so we had plenty of food between that the pizza and the munchies. We all agreed we need to do stuff like this more often and it looks like there is going to be a board game night on our horizon.

Caroline decided that the Puppy Bowl with the Kitten half time show was much more her speed and she watched it along with Ariel and Ariel's friend in another room. We kept hearing squeals of delight and "Oooooo look at the puppy/kitty" emanating from there.

So today I start on a couple of things I need to do this week to get the rest of the year off to a good start.

I am grateful for the fun that everyone had last night.

I watched the puppy bowl when I got home at 1am... ;) It really made me miss my puppy.

Keely was mesmerized by the Puppy Bowl and Kitty Half-time show. Especially the part where she got to keep me updated on which puppy had the "zoomies" and who was currently chewing on who (I was in the next room doing homework).

In our house, we watched the Puppy Bowl first, and then the Super Bowl. Half-time = bedtime for the kids, so our son was more than a little miffed to find out this morning that the Patriots lost. I explained that it was a very good game, and that the Giants really pulled it out of the fire in the last half hour of the game. I'd be happy with either team winning, although I'm a Massachusetts native.

I am grateful for interesting people like you on my friends list. ^_^
