RTBTCKI Valentine's Day 2020
Caroline is off to her last day of school before her February break. She is looking forward for a week to rest and reset before the next part of the school year.
I am up to my keister in cut fabric that I have to sew but the foam understructures are ready to go.
Peter has a couple of writing gigs he is working on.
We are going to be busy for the next week even if there is not school in the equation.
One week from today we will be traveling to Baltimore for Farpoint. Let’s hope the weather is kind to us.
Those who have known me for a long time know my love hate relationship with cursive. Now I know that part of the problem was my dyslexia and part of it was my crappy handwriting. I have been reading about how cursive needs to be taught in schools because it activates parts of the brain that script does not. Math does the same thing apparently.
I have been writing in cursive each day and, funny thing, I have an easier time to get the creative going afterwards. The loop and whorls are meditative as I push my pen across the page. Also I can tell where my head is at by how legible my writing is. The more focused I am, the prettier my handwriting.
When I was a child, I would chew my fingernails and did so well into adulthood. After having Caroline, I stopped. I have no idea why, but the urge went away. Now I keep them clipped short so I won’t get stuff under them. I know it is time when I can feel them strike the keys of the computer.
Peter got me the Lego International Space Station for Valentine’s Day. He knows me so well.
And the cats have sorted out where they are taking their cat naps. There was a spat over a box and a cat bed but everyone is fine now with no injuries.
Tonight, Peter is taking us out for dinner using the money he won in the 50/50 at bowling on Wednesday. We also won all three games that night, so it was a very good night.
I have been watching Lego Masters which is a competition about building with Legos and creativity. I am wondering how they picked the people competing, but they can all build these amazing structures in eleven hours. Makes me want to play with Legos even more.
I watched the sunrise this morning. There were some clouds that diffused the light making for some pretty colors. I think when it gets warmer, I am going to start walking down to the docks to watch the sun rise. Get some exercise and personally time at the same time.
Well off to start sewing little bodies and then onto the next project.
I am grateful for good sharp nail clippers.
