Crafty Tuesday I create Meep-Morp
There is a cartoon series that Caroline adores entitled Steven Universe. It is about a boy who is part of a group made up of anthropomorphic gems that have to defend the Earth against the other gems that want to destroy it. But the series is not really about that but interpersonal relationships and how we treat others and ‘the other’. I highly recommend it for some really good TV that makes you think.
Last night a new episode entitled “Beta” was aired. In it two characters named Peridot and Lapis Lazuli were showing off what they had been doing with their time which was what we would call found object art where you take things that you find and make art with them like bottles and scrap metal and the like. They were telling Steven how these things they made both reminded them of things and gave them feelings. And Steven informs them that they have been creating art. Lapis comments that they called it Meep-Morp. Caroline and I had to rewind the show we were laughing so hard over the meep-morp comment.
So we have decided to call what we do Meep-Morp.
I am winding up for my next puppet marathon. Today is about cleaning up and putting away everything from the last three conventions since there are parts of Shoreleave still in the living room. Tomorrow Caroline goes off to visit Ariel and family for a time so I need to do laundry today and pack her for that.
Then I am going to be puppet building like it is going out of style. I know what I need to get done and I can do it but I need the physical time to do it in along with my hands cooperating.
So 24 days and 24 puppets to go. Let’s see how much Meep-Morp I can make in that time.
I am grateful for silly words that bring a smile to my face.
