Spacey
I got a little done yesterday that I had hoped to get done. Instead it was a Caroline Day. She needed me to hold her and be there for her. She wasn’t sick. I think she picked up on the mood in the house, especially since Peter and I had the viewing that evening, which was not a happy one.
We had some nasty thunderstorms last night. The ground is very saturated from the rain. I will not be watering the lawn today. It looks like we may have more rain on the way. I hope that it holds off for Marion’s burial today. Burying someone is hard enough but adding the rain is just adding a element that they don’t need. I learned that Marion was a big Braves fan from way back. They are burying her with her favorite Braves Baseball Cap.
3 weeks to DragonCon and I need to get more done than I did yesterday. Unlike when working on costumes, I really don’t have to be cryptic about what I am making since I will be showing it shortly. I want to redo Honor’s hands. If I can find these great skeleton hands I bought after Halloween last year then I am good to go. If not then I have to come up with something else to solve my hand problem. I want to get a couple of Monster Puppets done also as well as a second Manamana since Ariel really doesn’t want me selling the first.
Ariel and I were in one of our local craft shops getting her some colored hemp so she can make bracelets to sell to raise money for the school play. She was wondering how she was going to add a clasp. I looked at the example and told her that she didn’t need one because there was an easier way to do it. Ariel said something to the effect that she didn’t see how but she knows that if I say I know how then I do and can teach her she trusts me to do so. The woman behind us chuckled. She said my sister does the same thing. She can look at something and deconstruct out how it went together. I thought about it and said that I hadn’t thought of it that way but I have been able to do that as long as I can remember. I guess it is all how you look at it. I know I scored high on spatial relations on the army test I took in High School.
I am grateful for the weird ways my mind works.
