Caroline's Birthday Party and a request

Caroline’s birthday was rather low key which was fine by me. She became wounded up enough with just what was going on with the people we did have here. We took her to our Sunday breakfast spot where the waitresses sang her happy birthday. This is a place we have been going to for years. They kept up with my pregnancy. The day after I gave birth to Caroline, Peter and Ariel went there for breakfast and told them about what had happened. They sent their best wishes and looked forward to meeting Caroline. Anytime we go there Caroline and Ariel are greeted by name. One of the small town advantages we have on occasion.

We ran a few errands to finish up getting the perishables for the party. We set up for the beginning of the party and got a call from a couple we had hoped could join us but the wife was sick so they couldn’t make it. So it was Caroline, Ariel, Peter, and me along with her paternal grandparents and her aunt Beth with her cousin Emma who is 3 months younger than Caroline and a number of the neighbors who have known Caroline since she was born. We had a cake with Nemo from Finding Nemo on it. I gave the birthday girl a balloon (one of her favorite toys) that had Nemo saying “ Hope you make a big splash on your birthday”. She received lots of cool presents from everyone. She had also discovered the magic of Play-dough. All in all she had a pretty good day. She had some digestive tract problems later in the day and didn’t take much of a nap which leads to a very cranky Caroline. She finally relaxed on her father’s lap to the point that I could put her up to bed with no protest.

I should be able to get some pictures up on the web sometime today at the homepage.mac.com/kathodavid site.

On a totally different subject, I could use everyone’s good thoughts/prayers/wishes. I am going after a job that I want probably more than any job I have wanted before. This is one I would be really good at and think I would add to the worth of the company. There are a few obstacles including getting some people to think about me in a slightly different light and the usual problems that go with the current job market.

I am grateful for the ability to learn.
