It's fine now
Thanks for the support everyone. The situation sorted itself out by evening but I was trying to keep up with Caroline so I didn’t post anything else. It boiled down to an emotional response vs. a rational response to a situation. I think some of the parties didn’t know how passionately some of the other parties felt about the situation. So all is fine for now and no karma points have been spent on either side.
Caroline was a bit of a handful yesterday. She didn’t want to participate with anyone at Mommy and Me at all. She kept going away from the kids and the activity. One of the little girls named Jesse, who is I believe is almost 3, decided that Caroline needed somebody to play with and proceeded to play were ever Caroline was playing. Caroline was fine with that as long as Jesse didn’t touch a kiddie shopping cart of stuff that Caroline had collected from all over the room. They did end up chasing each other up and down the slides for a bit. Caroline did have one meltdown but everyone was polite and ignored it.
At home she was in rare form of trying to grab anything that she couldn’t have and she KNOWS she can’t have then having mini meltdowns. Her sleep pattern has been off so my sleep pattern has been off and I think we are both a bit tired. She woke up screaming at 4:00 this morning. Peter took care of her. We think she had a bad dream because all she wanted was to be held and rocked until she went back to sleep. She is sleeping in this morning.
I am going to wish y’all a Happy Thanksgiving a day early since I know a number of people are traveling tomorrow and won’t be on the internet. New York City has posted a traffic warning about gridlock with in the city due to the number of people moving in and out of Manhattan. We were going to go in today and have lunch with a group of friends along with running another errand or two but will probably cancel due to the weather which is looking pretty sucky and the traffic. We are going to stay home tomorrow and Friday. I have the larder stocked up so we don’t have to deal with crowds for a couple of days. There are two things I have to get and I think Caroline and I are going on an excursion to get them. If I am lucky I can take care of some Hanukkah buying as well which arrives early this year.
