For Spring has Sprung....

We finally have some nice weather. Caroline has been outside playing in the yard and having a ball. The indoor kitties are jealous of her. They were at their window meowing in protest with very hurt kitty looks on their faces.

I like Spring and Fall better than Summer and Winter. I think I like Fall best, but Spring is a very close second. There is, to me, a sense of promise with Spring. That the cold weather is not going to last forever. That the flowers will bloom and cause various people’s allergies to start up. Spring feels green and fresh. It does mean more yard work, but at this point in the year, I really don’t mind it at all.

I do get the Spring Cleaning Bug. Spring is when I want to clean and organize everything from my house to my life. I make a lot of lists in the springtime. I look at it as a time of renewal. Many people do. The sale of self help books especially on organizing one’s life is up in the spring time. Many people spring clean without realizing that is what they are doing. So I am off to organize some part of the house and I leave you with a song of my youth.

A song to Spring in the immortal words of Walt Kelly

“The Hazy Yon”

How pierceful grows the hazy yon!
How myrtle petaled thou!
For spring has sprung the cyclotron,
How high browse thou, brown cow?

How high, how high, browse thou, browse thou,
How high browse thou, brown cow?
