The Power of Bob Barker

Peter admitted that he was very skeptical when I told him of the power of The Price is Right. But he beheld the proof with his own eyes. Caroline takes one nap a day. She usually sleep from 90 min. to 3 hours depending on what sort of night she had. About 11 am, she usually shows the signs of wanting to take a nap, but not wanting to take a nap. I found the perfect sleep aid by accident. I turned on the TV one day and the Price is Right came on. Caroline had been squiggling in my lap and fussing, but once Bob Barker started to talk she stopped. She watched in fascination and then slowly fell asleep. I thought OK, that was neat. A week later she was sooo tired and didn’t want to go to nap. It was 11:30 so I turned on the TV and my wiggling toddler was shortly fast asleep. This happened a number of times. I told Peter about it and he said ‘That’s nice dear” but there was no true belief in his voice. This morning Caroline was in rare form with the wiggling and complaining. She didn’t want to be held but she didn’t want to play. Peter was trying to convince her to take her bottle and settle. I looked at the clock 10:59. I said change the channel to the Price is Right. He did and was very surprised when Caroline settled down in his lap once Bob Barker started talking. Shortly after the first commercial, she fell asleep in his arms. He now understands the power of the Price is Right. I may send a Thank You note to Bob.
