Brother can you spare a job?

I have been unemployed for almost a year now after being downsized. I have picked up enough freelance work to cover what I need. I have been looking for another position in my field(s) and picked up a few temporary gigs, but nothing long term. The advantage has been that I have been able to spend a lot of time with Caroline when she is changing the fastest (She said DaDa to her Daddy this evening for the first time). I don’t regret any of the time I have been spending with my daughter. I have come close to several jobs that I was well qualified for and come in second a number of times. It has been frustrating.

I know I am in good company. A number of my friends and family have found themselves in the same position I am in. Most people I know who have been out of work have been averaging about 8 month before finding a new job. The long has been 2 years and she just recently found something in her career track that paid a living wage. I hear and read about the lack of job growth in America in many different places and I am living it. I think that jobs and out sourcing are going to become issues in the next presidential election. Americans are working harder but they are also working scared which is not a pleasant situation to be in at the workplace. I have seen the haunted looks on peoples faces when the possibility of downsizing is rumored and it is not pretty.

So if anyone knows someone who is looking for a book editor/office manager with excellent research and fact finding skills, you know how to get in touch with me.
