Deskusting

There are days that I think I need to take Before and After pictures of some of the cleaning I do around here just to give myself an idea of how much of a difference it makes to the look and feel of the room. I have a friend whose mantra is "Cluttered Room, Cluttered Mind." She feels that she thinks better in a clear space. Her house is feng shui'd to an inch of its life and woe betide you if you start moving anything around. Personally I think she is a little obsessive compulsive and found something to rationalize her behavior but that it the way she is and she doesn't try to rearrange others spaces. Overall I like her very much and accept her with her quirks. I do agree with her that a clear space can help clear the mind. I try to keep up with the bedroom at least because it is where I sleep.

Right now I have got to clear my desk. I have so many things I need to do but I am in a case where I have maybe 2 inches of space around the computer if that. I'm betting that my parents, if they read this, are nodding their heads because they know exactly of what I speak because I did this as a kid too. Things that need to be found again tend to end up either on or in my desk. Of course it gets to such a state that you can't find all the stuff you were trying to keep where you can find it.

I have to find a place for all the stuff on my desk to go so it can be found again. There is the challenge. I think today is the first day in a long time that I am up to the challenge. I also have got to get that Angel puppet done also but a number of the patterns I need are buried on my desk.

I have noticed that I am taking fewer pictures of Caroline. I really need to correct that. She may not be changing as fast as she was when she was a baby, but she is growing and changing still at a fast pace. Also I have interested parties who would like to see what she looks like now since they may see her in person once or twice a year. It is hard to believe that in little over a month she will be 3 years old. It seems so short and so long at the same time.

I am grateful for neat and tidy surfaces even if they don't stay that way long.
