Birthday Musing 2015 Edition
For those of you just joining us, every year I write a letter to myself and put it away for a year. Then I open it and read what was on my mind last year. I also have one that I wrote when I turned 50 that I will read when I turn 60 but that’s not this year.
A couple years ago I started putting the part I feel comfortable having out in public here on my web log.
So here is this year’s missive.
Dear Kath,
Well that was a year with a lot of ups and downs. There were some bad times and some really good times and some rather annoying ones. I pretty much think that the good did outweigh the bad.
You will have a couple of things that you have written published in the next year. There is one project that you need to get cracking on so do so. You are starting to get a writing resume now do something with it.
You were better but not best about the gym and your physical health. You got a diagnosis of why your body is shaking at times and learned that you and Katherine Hepburn had/have to deal with essential tremors which is a life annoying rather than life threatening condition. Makes threading a needle very interesting at time.
Speaking of threading a needle, you did meet your goal of getting all the puppets done before Dragon Con. It was just right before Dragon Con but still not sewing puppets at Dragon Con gave you more time to deal with other things and that was a good thing too. Now you have three commissions and a piece you want to try to have done by NYCC.
You met some very interesting people this year and made some new friends. Can’t say that things have been boring but then you haven't be able to say that for years which is a good thing in my book.
So this year work on getting exercise more regularly rather than in fits and spurts. Get that writing you owe people done. Get those puppets done. Figure out what you are doing for Dragon Con next year and start soon. Let’s check back in with each other this time next year.
Love ya,
Kath
