They usually do pretty well with their Christmas offerings, and this one was no exception. I happen to completely disagree with Moffat's premise about every Christmas being your last - particularly with this holiday, which is all about renewal (the days becoming longer again, the turn of the calendar year). This time of year I like to dwell in the past and the present more than the future. :)
